My name is Karie Orendorff, in 2010 I visited Arusha, Tanzania and established a relationship with Ernest Kutingala, Director of the Maasai Joy Children’s Center (MJCC) by climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, I knew I would return to Tanzania. In the summer of 2013, I was given the opportunity to take 6 young men, from the University of Rhode Island, on a service trip to teach at MJCC.
I continue to take students and friends to Africa to experience the amazing country of Tanzania, through teaching at the Maasai Joy Children’s Centre and camping in the Serengeti. And every once in awhile to head back up Kilimanjaro to see Africa’s Rooftop again!
